Murray Darling Basin Authority
The Murray-Darling Basin Authority (MDBA) is a statutory agency responsible for planning the integrated management of water resources across the Murray-Darling Basin.
The MDBA is responsible for preparing, amending, implementing and enforcing a Basin Plan for adoption by the Minister for Climate Change & Water. The Basin Plan will aim to achieve milestones in water resource management integration, compiling and analysing information and engaging with stakeholders.
Additional functions of the MDBA include administering state water shares within the River Murray system; the construction, operation and maintenance of the River Murray assets; and natural resource management programs.
